Association News We invite all seasoned bowlers, 50 years and older, to bowl in our last house finals; the Senior Citizens Mixed Doubles and Singles roll-off on March 14th. The winning Junior couple, 50 to 64, and Senior couple will have a chance to win at the Provincial Finals on May 12th. Our winners get one night free accommodation, an Orléans 5PBA bowling shirt, if you don't have one, and $ 75 to pay travel costs. Did you know the bowling centre is hosting the National Finals of the YBC Singles Competition? Jonathan Piché has asked for help May 1st to 3rd in many areas. If interested, please contact him. With the possibility of sending a second team to the provincial finals from the Provincial Triples roll-off this was very competitive roll-off with some very close scores. The Ontario 5PBA allowed a second team to advance, for a nominal charge. The first place team, from OAMBL, took over in the second game and stayed ahead at the end. The team includes Jason Parent, Noreen Strober and Dan Gervais. The second place team, from Alley Cats, decided they did not want to go to the Provincial Finals under the runner-up conditions set-out. There was a tie for third place between a Highway 17 league team and another OAMBL team. The team from Highway 17 was allowed to advance based on the tie breaking formula; they were Maureen Condon, Brandy Fahey and Deanne Rumsey. Deanne will be replaced by Bianca Richer-Osbourne. On February 27th, all of our bowlers at the Executive Tournament were over their average; they were Serge Carignan, Sid Fowler and Vince Amelotte. The High Low Doubles team of Pierre Moreau and Luc Vachon also bowled above average. Our current executive: President: Vincent Amelotte–Mon&Fri Vice-President: Ken Simpson – Tues. & Fri.
